Building Use

We are a dynamic congregation at the heart of a dynamic city.

We are located just one block from the state capitol building. We are a dynamic congregation at the heart of a dynamic city. These properties and facilities are used primarily for local church ministries, from weddings to funerals/memorial services to community meals.

Our ministries are further enhanced through a broad use of our facilities. We make these properties and facilities available to other groups, including religious, charitable, cultural, community service, fellowship and educational groups. We do rent space to appropriate groups, so if you're interested in using our building for your activity, please see the Facility Use Guidelines and forms below, as there are policies about this use.

Church Building Use Fee Schedule

Tier I users: Programs, organizations and committees of First Church.

Tier II users: Member use for special occasions; Programs, organizations and committees of other United Methodist Churches; Groups and organizations of other religious denominations and affiliations.

Tier III users: Non-profit community organizations/non-member special occasions on a one-time basis; Non-profit community organizations on a regular basis.

Tier I:

No fees

Tier II:

$100 refundable security deposit
Sanctuary - No fee (holds approximately 450 people)

Kitchen - $75 (under 25 people) $150 (over 25 people)

Fellowship Hall – No fee (holds approximately 180 people w/tables & chairs)

Chapel – No fee (holds approximately 100 people)

Classrooms/Conference Rooms - No fee

Custodial Services - $50 per hour of time at church if extra custodial time is required

Audio Technician - $30 per hour

Funeral: Custodial Fee - $150, Organist- $150, Musicians/Vocalists - $150, Sound Technician - $75 No facility use charge. Clergy: Discretionary Honorarium (member); $150 (nonmember). Additional fees may be added depending on specific needs and requests of the family. 

Member Use for Special Occasions: Custodial Fee $150

Tier III:

$100 refundable security deposit
Sanctuary - $500 per day (holds approximately 450 people)

Kitchen - $200 per day when cooking onsite/$50 if no onsite cooking

Fellowship Hall - $150 per half day, $400 per day (holds approximately 180 people w/tables & chairs) Custodial Charge: $50 half day, $150 full day

Chapel - $100 per day (holds approximately 100 people)

Music Room - $100 per day

Classrooms/Conference Rooms - $30 per day

Custodial Services - $50 per hour of time at Church if extra custodial time is required

Audio Technician - $30 per hour

Please note: These fees are subject to change without notice and are intended to cover the actual cost to the First United Methodist Church of Madison for the facilities used. Under special circumstances, pricing will be negotiated.
